Globe's insecticide foggers can be divided into two main groups - thermal foggers and ULV cold foggers. Thermal foggers produce an ultra fine mist by heating up the pesticide liquid with a heat coil powered by propane or electricity and vaporising it. These thermal fogging machines produce a large count of incredibly small particles, making for a dense cloud of visible fog. Because the fog droplets that thermal insect foggers create are so small, they stay in the air for longer meaning the pesticides have a better chance of coming into contact with any flying insects in the vicinity. ULV cold foggers or ultra-low volume foggers use air pressure to atomise the insecticides. As they do not use heat, and thus do not pose a fire risk, these pesticide foggers are more suited for indoor use. The particle size of the droplets produced is more uniform and can be controlled by the operator to suit their needs. Cold foggers are ideal for applying fungicides and controlling mould both indoors and outdoors, treating both surfaces and airspaces.
